Office With a View (and) On the Move

What are your weekend guilty pleasures? Mine? Magazines, Pinterest and Netflix!

This weekend my thoughts were focused on the future… I’m planning to buy a house in the upcoming months! The process has been enlightening thus far as a first-time buyer. I’ve learned that fixer-uppers are surprisingly complicated to finance. I’ve “lost” a house in my ideal location to another buyer (darn). Yet, now I feel even more educated on the process and ready to make a move when the next house comes to market! What fun it will be to decorate and settle in to my first official home.

Through several moves during my college and early career years, I have managed to hoard my favorite magazine of all time: Domino! Discovering this fab mag back in 2005, I loved Domino so much I kept nearly every issue. When it was shuttered back in early 2009, my heart dropped. Imagine the excitement of nostalgic lovers like me when Domino relaunched in 2013 with a web and quarterly print presence.

Digging through past and present spring/summer issues (far left was the very first issue of Domino and far right is the current quarterly issue), I’m getting inspired for my upcoming decorating projects (and future travels, too). A few of my favorites : :

Looking forward to sharing upcoming adventures with you!

Office With a View: Vacay Adventures

{Image: Office With a View}

It’s a holiday week at my Office With a View, so many of my team members and clients are travelling and OOO celebrating the Fourth of July. Last month I took a wonderful vacation with my family, and thus I’m living vicariously through pictures from our trip. We road tripped to the West Coast, spending time in Los Angeles, San Francisco, beautiful Napa Valley, and back through Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, and Telluride. It was such a great adventure. While my wifi card and iPhone were hopelessly inactive through stretches of desolate desert, I was able to check in with my Office With a View and also unplug a bit, too.

My West Coast Vacay Highlights 2012:

  • Seeing LA and the Hollywood Sign for the first time in-person! Also visiting Sprinkles and seeing the cupcake ATM that I read about last year- amazing. (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Driving down Lombard Street’s twisty turny road in a giant SUV, and dropping in at Jonathan Adler’s store nearby- awesome. (San Francisco, CA)
  • Experiencing the Robert Mondavi Winery tour. I especially loved Mondavi’s life quote: “All things in moderation, including moderation.”-insightful. (Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley- Oakville, CA)

Have you been on any Vacay Adventures lately? Where are you planning to go next?
